nicole Aucoin
My name is Nicole Aucoin. I am a married mom of three and a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Louisiana. I am also National Board Certified and teletherapy credentialed. While I am not from Louisiana, I do claim it as my home! After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, I taught for several years in the public education system. I returned to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where I received a Master of Science in 2014. My counseling experience includes working with families, individuals, adolescents, and adults. In addition to working my private practice, I also work in our local school system. In my free time I enjoy reading, exercising, yoga, and spending quality time with my family.
My true passion is working with adult clients who may be struggling to navigate through past childhood traumas. I enjoy working with caregivers who are seeking to provide their children with childhoods that they will not have to recover from. I have training as an ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) educator and a TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) Practitioner.
I see counseling as a process in which you, and I, having come to understand and trust one another, work as a team to explore and define present problem situations, develop future goals for an improved life and work in a systematic fashion toward realizing those goals.
I focus on clients who experience life difficulties that may relate to disturbances in relationships, concept of self, and quality of life.
I use an action-oriented approach in which you may be asked to make individual, relationship, and/or family changes.
In 2020, I connected with clients through telehealth services and began in person sessions during the Fall of 2021.
