There are many reasons that people seek therapy. Reaching out for help is a courageous step and nothing to feel ashamed of. Everyone has “stuff” going on in their lives that may be leaving them feeling stuck. A non- judgmental compassionate listener may be of great benefit to you. While counselors do not offer advice or tell you what to do, we are present to help you navigate through life’s difficulties. Everyone’s life experiences are unique and counseling practices and interventions are always tailored to your needs. What are the potential benefits of counseling?
Everyone’s experience in counseling is different. A few benefits of counseling may include gaining greater self-awareness and self-confidence, regaining emotional balance, decreasing anxiety, improving relationships, stress relief, improved communication and assertiveness, and the list goes on and on. You should be aware that counseling poses potential risks. In the course of working together, additional problems may surface of which you were not initially aware. If this occurs, you should feel free to share these concerns with me.
Do you accept insurance?
I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health Care Community Plans, Vantage, and Cigna insurance. Since all plans are different, you will need to review your individual policy to determine plan coverage. Rates will vary based upon your health care provider and plan coverage. I believe that finances should not be the sole reason why an individual does not receive quality counseling services. Inquire about private pay rates.
How much does counseling cost?
The fee for services is $115 per individual session and $150.00 for each couple session. This fee is paid directly to Nicole Aucoin Counseling and Consulting, LLC. Payment for services is due at the close of each session. If utilizing insurance, the fee for services will be dependent on your specific plan coverage and benefits.
How are services provided?
Services are provided in person or via telehealth. Licensing restrictions require that clients be located in the state of Louisiana to receive services. Telehealth services are delivered through a HIPAA compliant telemedicine platform. There is no need for you to download software of create an account.

What happens if I need to cancel a session?
Appointments may be scheduled, rescheduled or cancelled within 24 hours of scheduled appointment time. Failure to give notice for any appointment not cancelled 24 hours in advance will result in a charge of $25 for the time reserved for you.
How long are sessions?
Sessions last 60 minutes.
Will the things I share in sessions be kept private?
Material revealed in counseling will remain strictly confidential except for under the following circumstances, in accordance with State law:
1. The client signs a written release of information indicating informed consent of
such release.
2. The client expresses intent to harm him/herself or someone else.
3. There is reasonable suspicion of abuse/neglect against a minor child, elderly
person (60 or older), or dependent adult
4. A court order is received directing the disclosure of information.
In the event of marriage or family counseling, material obtained from an adult client individually may be shared with the client’s spouse or other family members with the client’s written permission. Any material obtained from a minor client may be shared with the client’s parent or guardian.
How long will I need to be in counseling for?
The length of services ranges from days, weeks, and sometimes a year or more. Therapeutic goals, individual needs, financial barriers, and varies other situations greatly influence the length of time that a client needs therapy.
What is teletherapy?
Teletherapy is the use of telecommunications technology to provide real-time counseling services to clients at a distance. Teletherapy can be delivered using video and audio communication using mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers. It is similar to in-person therapy only over phone or video conferencing.
